Het ideale broedblok voor de Catharina met voldoende ruimte om de jonge vogels te laten opgroeien. Bovenkant draait omhoog, daardoor gemakkelijke nestinspectie. Keuze voor invlieggat, links of rechts.

Leg op de bodem wat houtkrullen vermengd met turf en maak dit iets vochtig/klammig. Een Catharinaparkiet maakt uit zichzelf geen nest. De pop legt gemiddeld 3 tot 6 eieren die gedurende 21 tot 23 bebroed worden. Het mannetje voert het vrouwtje zodat zij niet van het nest af hoeft. Op een leeftijd van 4 weken vliegen de jongen uit.
